Excited for Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it is a little soon for a post on Halloween, BUT my whole day has been consumed by thoughts of HALLOWEEN!!! My husband and I love Halloween. We are planning a little costume party at our house this year and just spent a few minutes talking to the neighbors about it.  Even my dogs like to eat pumpkin when we are carving them.

It is such an exciting time of the change of the season from hot summer to the cool, dry air of fall. Not only are there so many photography opportunities during the fall months (**more news to come on mini sessions), DYI decorations are key to a successful Halloween party.

My favorite candy shop in Denver, Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop is shown below with a link to an article about this business. Wherever you end up shopping for your favorite candy, I know it will be enjoyable.

Stepping into the music

As a wedding photographer, I don't get the opportunity to photograph too many band gigs, so it was nice to go to see my friends band, The Royal play at the Marquis Theater, Denver.  These guys were recently nominated to pay at the 93.3's Big Gig Locals only stage at Red Rocks. Check them out and download their EP. My favorite song is "Daggers"but, it didn't make it on the set list at last nights show.
I am always intrigued by the effort and passion that all artists put into their work.  Beyond the colored lights and booming speakers, smaller bands, like The Royal, seem to put more effort into interacting with the crowd and just having a good time. Great show! Enjoy the pics

Family Life

Recently I had a shoot with The C Family. It has been a pleasure to be a part of photographing another family as they grow together. As we awaited the baby boy to awake from his slumber, I got a chance to snap some shots of the big sister and her cousin. This gives you a little bit of behind the scenes of what interactions I get to see behind my camera. It really makes me giggle when I get home and look at my pictures from the day.

I really enjoy being a photographer for a family and see them grow through the years.

Once, twice, three times a wedding

It was a warm day in a little church in Manitou Springs, where I joined a familiar family to photograph another generation of nuptials. On this day, two soul mates, Paul and Hannah, snuggled together in the quaint church as they tuned their hears to the priest and soaked in the essence of their faith and words of wisdom the priest offered. Then we headed off to the beautiful Briarhurst Manor for the reception.

I loved being a part of this day not only because it is a wedding and I am a sap for weddings, but because this family is full of dear people who have supported my ventures as a photographer. This is my 3rd wedding for this extended family, referrals are the best!

Not only am I happy for Hannah and Paul to start their humble, devoted life together, I am happy to add another family photo to the families album.

Congratulations Hannah and Paul! May you hold true love and happy hearts forever.

Ten Mile Station Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. H at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge. Not only was this a beautiful mountain venue with an AWESOME event coordinator, this couple was just amazing.  Their friends had nothing but funny stories to share about their relationship.

One lucky bridesmaid had the catch of her life! I caught all of this with my camera. Enjoy the pics from the H Family wedding. Have a wonderful, happy marriage.

SHARK!!!!

I think it is funny that my home town of Tampa hits the internet with some scary pictures of a shark in the road. Bayshore is my favorite area of Tampa Bay and often gets flooded. I have driven down this road many of times when it is flooded, but have never seen a shark.
Check it out!

The travels of Flat Stanley

My husband and I got the pleasure of getting a flat Stanley in the mail from his nephew. We were asked to take it along in our travels. During this time we visited Florida, Las Vegas and many other places around Denver. We had a great time stuffing Stanley in our wallet and updating his class on where Stanley had visited. During our travels, our friends were curious as to why we had a paper person we kept taking pictures with. It became a fun thing on the trips to remember to get Stanley out and let him enjoy the fun. Needless to say, our paper friend became part of our fun. I would suggest others enjoy this cute little project. Enjoy a few pics from our time with Flat Stanley.

Historical Moments

It was a pleasure photographing the re-opening reception and ribbon cutting for the Emerson School.  The National Trust for Historic Preservation team, along with it supporters and donors, restored the school and made the school another gleaming aspect of Capital Hill. With stories from locals who grew up around the school and stories from the current local shop owners who keep this area thriving, it was nice to see such heart, soul, and pride out into preserving this Denver building and its spirit.  Take a peek at their blog and website.  Help support projects such as these, as preservation is important to communities all across America.
