I love beach weddings. Because I am from Florida, I have had the opportunity to return home and photograph some wonderful beach weddings. While I am sitting here watching the snow fall in Denver, I was reminded of this wonderful wedding on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Cooking Love-Hate Relationship

My blog this week is to reach out to Lori J Photography clients out there.  I know that each and every day you all might struggle with tackling certain tasks in our household.  Keeping the house clean, laundry, the kiddos, pets, juggling friends, family, and gatherings, OH I almost forgot the other family that you spend more time with WORK! Oh my gosh, who has time to plan a nice meal??  Maybe you do cook all the time but don't know what else to make.  Cooking is a BIG hot topic for my household. "What are we going to eat for dinner?" We shout as one of us stares looking into the fridge....like a magic meal is going to pop out and hit us in the face.  Ok so, I am sure that each and every one of us struggle with finding what to make for meals each week. Yes...yes??? Any takers? Well even if you don't want to comment on this blog, I know that it happens!

Life is so crazy that when we get home, we don't have the energy or maybe even the time to cook.  So in order to help out, I thought that we could all help each other. THANK YOU PINTEREST! I have created a Pinterest board that I use to help me pick out meals before I go shopping each week.

YAY Bachelorette Party!

I recently spent the weekend in the mountains with a group of girls celebrating a bachelorette party weekend.  It was so much fun! The bride got to spend the weekend relaxing and relishing in all of the planning that she accomplished over the past year. Don't worry, the groom will soon have his own weekend in Vegas. Sounds fun, right?

We ran into so many other bride and groom parties on our weekend that I started to think about the point of the party. It really is just to have another party in celebration of the wedding/commitment and where the maids and/or the groomsmen kick off a last farewell to their friends unmarried life. With so many couples waiting to get married/committed until later in life, the perception is that marriage is boring, unfulfilled, or is always a mistake, I don't believe this! Being a photographer and going to hundreds of weddings, I believe a marriage/commitment is what you make it.  Just like a friendship, you can't just expect it to work by itself.  Time and energy must go in to creating happiness between the two of you, while still juggling your own personalities. 

It annoys me that people see people getting married and the first thing they say is a sarcastic, "GOOD LUCK!" I experienced the same comments when I got married. Well ladies and gentleman, don't let the negativity get you down!!! The negative Nancey's might have a reason to be haters on your relationship but, it doesn't mean it is your burden to carry. Wedding Inspiration Board

Inspiration Board of Lori J Photography, wedding photography. This event was held at The Pines of Genesee in Colorado. The bride and groom had good luck on their wedding day with a late day shower. It still didn't interfere with photo time. I hope this board will give you inspiration for your Colorado Wedding.

The Beauty of Art

I am pleased to say that all of my searches last year and endless hours hunting online and in person paid off. I have found so many wonderful distributors and vendors that make awesome products that I can offer to all of you, my clients. I believe this is very important because, not only will you get awesome photographs by yours truly, but you can have an array of products to choose from to display your FAVORITE images on your wall in your home! That is exciting.

My job as a photographer is to bring art into your home. Most of the time that art is of you BUT, that doesn't mean that you don't need to hang it up! It is a way for you to relish in your life and all of the emotion that it brings. All you will need is a hammer and a nail.

Women in Design Event Photography at Von Design

The Women in Design of Denver VIP membership celebration was held at Von Design. This uniquely designed studio has very high quality designs that use of lush wood and raw materials with intention of sustainability.  I was totally impressed by all of varying art forms and the detail this group put into making this event happen. They also seemed to have a lor of fun putting it all together.  From the custom made WiD aprons they wore to the DIY photo-booth inclusive of hardhats and boas, it was an awesome networking event.
